Yummy Infused Cottage Cheese w/ Banana, Almonds & Honey

HELLO KITTY KATS!

I stumbled upon this delicious cottage cheese recipe on accident!  I'm usually running late every morning, and barely making it out the door, so I wanted a quick and easy breakfast recipe to make the night before so that I could grab a few quick bites in the morning as I'm running out the door!!

Easy recipe for a busy lady!

So this recipe is super simple.  The key to making this really yummy is letting it sit overnight.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup lowfat cottage cheese
1 medium banana
handful of almonds or walnuts (or both)
2 tbsp of cinnamon
2 tbsp of honey

INSTRUCTIONS

layer your bowl with cottage cheese first, sliced banana, nuts, cinnamon and drizzle with honey.  Cover, and put in fridge over night, mix it up in the morning and ENJOY!!!!  Great for breakfast or a sweet afternoon snack.

LOVE YOU KITTY KATS!

This is THE PERFECT drink for hot summer days.
It's sweet, spicy, light and refreshing!
I have to say it is by far, HANDS DOWN, THE BEST drink I have ever made.

Mind you, I did not measure anything!

Recipe:
Few frozen mango chunks
1 fresh squeezed lime
One shot of tequila (preferably patron)
One shot of Triple Sec Liquor
Few dashes of Margarita Mix
1-2 thin slices of chili pepper
2 Ice Cubes

*Blend it all up in a blender!
*Serve with salt, cayenne pepper and fiesta lime seasoning on rim!

Yeah... that is my half empty glass because I could not hold myself back, I was literally chugging it - too good!

MAKE THIS!
NOW :)

Happy Drinking,

Berries for Breakfast: Making Cheerios Even More Healthy

This morning, I decided to head over to Trader Joe's and purchase a lighter alternative to my usual toasted sesame bagel with Philadelphia brand cream cheese breakfast. I stocked up on food supplies pretty good, including throwing in my favorite flower -- the alluring pink Hyacinth. I'm mentioning the hyacinth simply because no other flower, other than perhaps a red red rose, produces such a blissful aroma. There's a reason why an entire Greek myth revolves around the Hyacinth. Read up on it and get yourself one now before they expire at the end of Spring.
I bought a lot of stuff

The cereal I chose is Trader Joe's version of Honey Nut Cheerios with dried fruit bits:

Yum

To liven up my meal -- and to add the "fresh fruit" element that is key to wellness eating experience -- I also added raspberries, blueberries, and half a banana to my cereal. I topped it all off with Silk brand unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
Fresh berries to any cereal add depth to the flavor as well as they're good for ya!

Berry-ful breakfast
There you have it, folks! There's a light, easy, quick, and cheap breakfast idea for you.
Hope you enjoy it!
Bon apetit!

Welcome to the wonderful food-filled world of the Cousins

Hey everyone,

Chances are, you're on this bloggity blog because one of us told you about it -- "us" being either Anita, Sheila, Jennifer, Azin, or Naseem. There are a million food blogs out there right now, so why did we decide to clog up bandwidth with another one? Well...

BECAUSE WE FELT LIKE IT, THAT'S WHY

Not only did we grow up surrounded by a bunch of women who cook (our grandma gave birth to 7 female chefs), but all we do is group text shit to each other back and forth all day, including everything we're eating, which is usually the best part. We figured might as well share our culinary creations with the rest of yous.

Maybe you're feeling uninspired foodwise. Or can't think of what to eat? Want to watch Anita embrace obesity? She eats the most unhealthy out of all of us. Check in with us and get some of all that. We're all very different individuals, so we'll be offering up a variety of recipes, meal ideas, beverage ideas, and places to go to grub (we all travel quite a bit as well, so this part shall appeal to all ya'll globetrotters as well)

Anyway, enough of the chit chat. DIG IN!

Love,

The Cousins
